THE SCHOOL SEAL
The outsider circle depicts the Mission of SPCC. While the inner circle declineates the Vision of the School. In the space in between the two circles is the name of ST.PEDRO CALUNGSOD, the saint we honor and implore to guide us; so that we like him who went outside the country to spread the faith, we too may have the zeal to bring Christ to others.
The cross and the Bible represent the Catholic education that every student receives in SPCC. The figure of a person portrays St. Pedro Calungsod as patron and model of the youth. The blue surrounding stands for the land and the sea symbolizing the strenght and the foundation of our Vision. The Palm serves as the symbol of life that is pleasing to God. The lamp depicts the Christian formation each student receives in SPCC, making him/her the light to others. The clouds delineate the futuristic progress in reaching the goal and the objectives of SPCC.
1.2 HISTORICAL BACKROUND
History of St. Pedro Calungsod CollegeThe four sons and four daughters of Juvenal and Carmen Osorio first applied for SEC registration for Pedro Calungsod College in the year 2000 yet. It was the idea of Ma. Zenaida O. Belciña to put up a school in their lot in Cordoa, Cebu. However, the lot in Cordova, Cebu was not yet titled; it was agreed that it had to be titled to be able to use it as collateral for a loan for the construction of the school building.
It was only in 2012 when the title was released, and since Bl. Pedro Calungsod was to be canonized in October that year, they applied at SEC for the addition of the title "ST". to the registered name.
The plan and the specifications were made. However, when they applied for a building permit, they encountered a major hitch - the area of the lot in Cordova was only 228 sq. meters and CHED required an area of at least 1,000 sq. meters. So, they decided to put up the school in their lot in Panadtaran, Tubigon, Bohol because the area of the lot is 6,008 sq. meters.
